  Cloud telephony , more commonly known as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), allows you to make and receive phone calls without needing to set up a landline or any other special equipment beyond the computer and internet connection you already have in your home or office. Instead of making calls through your local exchange, as you would with traditional landlines, VoIP works by sending voice signals over the internet to another computer.
